An evening of Place-based writing practices
Time & Location
Sep 18, 2024, 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Port Angeles, 117 N Lincoln St, Port Angeles, WA 98362, USA
About the event
Writing is a simple and powerful tool for dialogue with our innermost Self and Surroundings. As the season shifts to fall, we find ourselves in a gentle and potent time for reflection and connection.
In this gathering, we’ll take the time to slow down, process, and connect with the many Places we’ve journeyed this summer—both outward and within. As we greet the transition from the fast-paced, vibrant energy of summer, full of travels, gatherings, and outdoor adventures, we’ll explore the power of writing as a filter for those experiences—gleaning wisdom and deeper understanding that can only come from our inner voice.
Writing is often seen as a solitary practice, much in the same way our processing is treated. There is magic in gathering communally for introspective practices, in being witnessed and witnessing one another as we navigate Life’s terrain.
This gathering will include:
- Guided journaling prompts
- Discussion circles (participation optional)
- A collaborative group writing practice
- Dedicated time for self-reflection / personal projects
- Cozy with herbal teas and treats
You do not need to have a writing practice or consider yourself a “writer” to join and reap the benefits of this gathering. All ages, bodies, and abilities welcome.
